Congratulations to URI and HSRI Scholars of Summer 2025!
Two outstanding undergraduate students of the PID Lab, Zaid Choudhry and Natalia Peña, have been accepted into highly competitive summer research programs!
Zaid has received the Provost Undergraduate Research and Innovation (URI) Summer Fellowship, funded by the Grace Hopper AI Research Institute. His research will focus on developing machine learning algorithms that analyze motion capture sensor data, aiming to distinguish between individuals with mobility disorders and healthy individuals.
Natalia has received the Honors Summer Research Institute (HSRI) program. Her research will focus on making fitness technology more inclusive for individuals with medical conditions. She will collect data directly from users to inform the design of a social fitness app.
Both the URI and HSRI programs offer undergraduate students with immersive, hands-on research experiences. With only half of proposals accepted, Zaid and Natalia’s participation in the programs highlights their research ideas and academic promise. We look forward to seeing the impact of their work!
