Outstanding end-of-semester achievements in the PID Lab
This semester concluded with several exciting accomplishments by members of the PID Lab:
Aayush Chitransh earned 1st place in the Hack Van Houten Challenge, where he and his teammates developed innovative solutions to improve the user experience with technology in the library. Their project demonstrated how thoughtful design and engineering can directly enhance everyday interactions with technology.
At the YWCC Capstone Showcase, the Capstone team— Victor Fotev, Michael Barrecca, and Matthew Bigio— won 3rd place out of 47 presentations for their work on integrating physical objects into virtual reality for task-specific rehabilitation.
In addition, the STS team— Andrew Couto, Franco Giovannetti, and Krish Patel— presented their research on the prevalence of depression and opioid misuse in the construction industry at the Honors Interdisciplinary Research Forum to an audience of hundreds of guests.
These achievements reflect not only the students’ hard work and talent, but also the collaborative, interdisciplinary spirit of the PID Lab. We are incredibly proud of their accomplishments and look forward to seeing what they take on next.
Congratulations to all involved for a fantastic semester!
