Welcome to the PID Lab: Aayush Chitransh and Oscar Zamora

I am excited to welcome two new PhD students to the PID Lab — Aayush Chitransh and Oscar Zamora. Aayush and Oscar will be joining this fall semester to advance the lab’s mission of addressing pressing societal challenges through interdisciplinary research.

Aayush Chitransh will be pursuing a PhD in Engineering Science. His research will evalute the effectiveness of policies related to firearm violence and opioid abuse, two urgent and complex public health crises in the United States. By combining data-driven analysis of policies, Aayush’s work will provide quantitative evidence to inform legislation and community-based strategies that impact entire societies.

Oscar Zamora, will be pursuing a PhD in Mechanical Engineering. His research will center on developing innovative platforms for training and telerehabilitation of injured construction workers, with the overarching goal of promoting the health, safety, and productivity of the workforce. His work will combine engineering, health sciences, and human-centered design to support and advance the construction industry.

I am thrilled to have Aayush and Oscar bring their skills, curiosity, and passion to the team. Welcome!!!
